What a Emergency & Trauma Care does day to day

What is the full form of EMT?

EMT stands for Emergency Medical Technician. The course is often called Emergency and Trauma Care Technology, offered as a two-year diploma. At VIMS the emergency and trauma care programme leads to a credential conferred by a UGC-recognised university.

What does an emergency and trauma care technician do?

An emergency medical technician gives pre-hospital care: assessing emergencies, performing CPR and basic life support, managing airways, controlling bleeding and stabilising trauma patients, and caring for them in the ambulance and casualty until doctors take over.
