Day-to-Day Reality

What a PT graduate actually does

A physiotherapist works out why a patient cannot move properly, then rebuilds that movement. The day runs across the outpatient department and the wards: assessing posture, joint range and muscle strength; leading exercise therapy; hands-on manual therapy; applying ultrasound, TENS, IFT and traction for pain; getting post-operative and ICU patients moving again; retraining walking after a fracture or a stroke; and sending every patient home with an exercise plan they will actually follow.

Real Placements

Where PT alumni currently work

Physiotherapists are hired by hospital rehabilitation departments, dedicated rehab centres and private clinics — and, unusually in healthcare, many eventually practise independently. Patna now has physiotherapy and rehabilitation departments in most multi-speciality hospitals, several of them in the VIMS placement network, plus a fast-growing cluster of private clinics treating back pain, sports injury and post-surgical recovery.

Career Pathway

Where this degree takes you

Beyond your first job, here are the directions PT graduates can grow into.

Staff physiotherapist Hospital OPD and wards — the first two to three years build your hands-on caseload
Specialisation Orthopaedic, neurological, sports or cardiopulmonary physiotherapy
Senior therapist or department head Leading a rehabilitation unit and supervising junior staff
Independent practice A physiotherapy clinic needs far less capital than a medical practice — one of the few healthcare careers where this is realistic
Overseas Trained physiotherapists are in steady demand in the Gulf, the UK, Australia and Canada
Why Choose PT

Why PT at VIMS makes sense

Direct admission, no entrance exam

Admission is direct — there is no entrance test and NEET is not required. Apply with your 12th marksheet and the decision comes within five working days.

A private college in Patna, fees stated up front

Every charge is published before you apply — tuition, admission form, registration, examination and kit. Counsellors will walk you through the full fee schedule and the instalment options on the call.

Demand that is still growing

Road trauma, stroke, diabetes and an ageing population all end in rehabilitation. Physiotherapy is the recovery arm of orthopaedics and neurology, and Bihar is still short of trained therapists.

Hospital internship built in

Training concludes with a supervised hospital internship, so you graduate having already treated real patients rather than only studying them.

Frequently Asked

PT FAQs

Common questions about the PT programme. For admission, fees, and process questions, see /admission/.

Is this the same as BPT?
Yes — people usually search for it as BPT. At VIMS it is a four-year physiotherapy degree conferred by a UGC-recognised university, and there is also a two-year diploma route. Which one suits you depends on your 12th subjects, and the counsellor will confirm it on the call.
What are the fees at a private physiotherapy college in Patna?
Fees depend on whether you take the four-year degree or the two-year diploma, and on whether you study full-time on campus or in flexible mode. The full schedule is published on the admission page, and nothing is added later — admission form, registration, examination and kit charges are all listed.
Do I need to clear NEET?
No. NEET is not required for physiotherapy admission at VIMS. Admission is direct, based on your 12th results.
Can I open my own clinic afterwards?
Many physiotherapists do, usually after a few years of hospital experience. Setting up a physiotherapy clinic needs far less capital than most medical practices, which is why independent practice is a realistic goal in this field.
Where do physiotherapy graduates work in Bihar?
In hospital physiotherapy and rehabilitation departments, dedicated rehab centres, orthopaedic and neuro units, sports and fitness centres, and private clinics. Several Patna multi-speciality hospitals in the VIMS placement network run their own rehabilitation departments.
